OTHER: PX270 Issue with MF ASSIST solvented

Hi, I thought I had a big issue with my PX270 because when I did focus in manual the focus just moved alone a little more, without me touching it, just like it was in automatic. I was really troubled about this but finally discovered that I activated the "MF ASSIST" function in the menu (I activated thinking this was the expand focus or something like this).

The thing is that this function does a little of automatic focus just in the final adjustment. You barely can´t notice this in almost every situation, just when the deep of field is really shallow, and in this situations the MF ASSIST can trash your shots. For example you have focus in one object in 3 meters and you change the focus to an object in 50cm. Well in that moment you put the focus in 0´50 and you stop touching the circle ring. In that moment the focus goes alone to 0´51, to 0´52 and returns to 0´50. The focus does it just for a second, but this little doubt can be noticed in the shot.

Just wanted to share my relief and to warn everyone about this menu function.

It's for when you need to focus really fast. With it OFF, the focus ring takes around 300 degrees of rotation to go from minimum to maximum. With MF ASSIST turned ON, the focus ring goes from min to max in only about 90 degrees. So the positioning of the ring is much faster, if not as precise. To help with the lesser precision, the MF ASSIST engages the autofocus to "touch up" focus in a very narrow range, once the ring stops moving.

So yes, you need to be aware of it, yes you should only use it when necessary, and yes there are reasons it does what it does...
