PX270 footage and FCP 7

Hello,

I have given some footage to a client that is using FCP 7 and they are having issues getting the files recognized. I don't use Apple so I am useless in this area. Does anybody know if there is an update or a best way to get the footage converted for them to use? I shot in 1080p60 long GOP.

FCP 7 has been dead for quite some time with no updates. 1080P60 long GOP is a newer codec, which I believe was introduced for the 270 for longer form work. Since FCP7 hasn't been updated for years, the problem is nearly certain to be incompatibility with the newer codec. If your client is stuck in the FCP7 mode and won't change, the file will need to be transcoded to a compatable codec.
