Wow! That was fun! I had a smile on my face the whole time! Seriously. I couldn't stop smiling. Very funny.
It looks like you had a great time shooting this!
As far as feedback on the filmmaking, I felt that the editing could have been better. In particular, the bedroom "investigation" seq. The camera was at times heading in a certain direction and then a cut to a different area of the room and I got lost as to where I was a few times. But that was minor.
I really enjoyed this film. I hope that more people get to see it.

Yes, it was very creepy and funny. The small clown was awesome. They were all very good. Ted mentioned earlier that he thought the editing was a weak link (not his exact words). I agree with this, though maybe for different reasons. It seemed to me like you had so many awesome creepy clown shots that you felt like you just had to use, that it ended up feeling like a montage in parts, especially towards the end. For instance, when the clown comes out from under the bed and stabs the guys foot and then changes into a different clown, I wasn't sure if you originally meant it that way or if you shot it with two different clowns but couldn't bring yourself to pick just one. Maybe I'm way off base. These may sound like major crits, they're not, just little things I was wondering about. I enjoyed this movie more than most.

Best opening sequence of the festival, I think, but I'm not sure I loved it in the context of the whole film. Which leads me to my next thought - the story was in general pretty clunky. Does it make more sense in its longer form?
Definitely best keyhole sequence of the fest. Definitely.
Where did you find all the clowns? That's freaking impressive. They looked like real, live clowns too - not just friends you dressed up as clowns. Egad. And scary clowns at that.

In short:
I already knew it, but you made it clear once again: Clowns are evil! (yes all It's fault) The clowns did a good job, but the story fell short.

Whoa! This is one mutha of a strange film. I LOVE it. The acting was wonderful and the camera work well thought out and executed. A great concept.
You've got your settings out of whack, though, and have video fields splitting out all over the place. What a shame because this is a really really strong entry but for that and the need for better lighting. I'm assuming you shot this with a DVX so you need to look at your camera settings and workflow to make sure you get a solid 24P output the next time.
Man, I can't say enough about this concept and the way you set up the scenes, though. Get Barry's book and take a day to study it and you'll be set the next time out.

here's a suggestion that could make this movie about 1000 times better: shoot a scene at the carnival where something happens involving clowns. maybe the girlfriend says she's afraid of clowns and the boyfriend says that it's stupid to be afraid of clowns, so he goes and picks on one of the clowns to show he isn't afraid. then they leave and go home. THEN the clown comes knocking.
anyways, you get the idea. and you can probably come up with something better, but it needs something to set this whole thing up.
oh yeah, you could also add something in the beginning that makes the "..frown upside down" line more of a payoff.
