Purple Fringe

Hi

I was doing a test with AF and Nano. Noticed fringing in this scene (notice the railings). I read up that purple fringing happens mainly due to lens.

I am using Voigtlander Noktor 25mm f/0.95 for the test. (Scene was shot at f/0.95, iso320 and camera NDwheel on 4, only an UV filter infront)

Please advise any possible ways to reduce purple fringing?

Thanks alot!
Koh

Try another test shooting at different f-stops so you can see if it goes away. Some of it looks like the roof is bleeding into the soft focus of the rail.

Yes, as Erik said, stop down the lens. Try it at f/2.8 and you'll probably see zero fringing. The more you open up lenses, the more susceptible they usually are to fringing. Happens on my Zeiss ZF's, my Compact Primes, and my Voigtlander. No lens performs its best when it's fully wide open.

Great tip... will try again
