Purchasing new DVX100B

Can anyone inform me of their experience of buying from NewEgg. They have good ratings, and good price. Associate on the phone wasn't sure what type of warranty came with the camera other than the 30 day store warranty. Also showed DVX book, but wasn't sure whether that was a book or the DVD.

I received mine in the mail from newegg just yesterday. The warranty statement is from Panasonic Canada Inc. Broadcast & Television Systems Division. There is also warranty information from Panasonic Puerto Rico Inc. On the bottom of the camcorder, there is a sticker that says this device complies with some Canadian law. Which leads me to believe the camera is not from Panasonic USA.

The packaging included a form to receive the rebate/software/book. I went to the rebate site and entered my information, but it said the serial number was invalid. I then went on to Panasonic's website and registered my camcorder. This morning I again tried to apply for the rebate and this time it looks like it went through. The status says they have received the request, but not yet printed the check.

Had I known this would happen, I would have gone with one of the authorized dealers that Barry listed. I buy all my computer equipment from newegg, so I thought this would be good too. So far it's been very stressful with not knowing if I'll get my rebate/book/software.

Just bought a DVX 100B from them 3 weeks ago. The rep. Mike Ski was really helpful in getting me what i needed when i needed it.

In the end you save yourself alot of hassle sticking with the Authorized Panasonic dealers.
 
ugafan, people say you can PM Jan and ask her if your serial number belongs to a registered camera.

If it doesn't, I'd recommend sending it back with the 30 day NewEgg warranty.

Thank you for the advice. I'm still new around here and don't know who Jan is. How do I send her a PM?
 
You can also look her up in the Members List. Under the J's her userid is Jan_Crittenden
 
Update: I sent her a pm and she said mine is a US product, so that is good. You still might want to go with an authorized dealer though. It's a few hundred dollars more, but it will save you the worry.
