Purchasing a GH-1

I am looking for the best place to purchase a GH-1. It seems like it is back-ordered every where. Where is the fastest and cheapest place to get one. Plus, i am looking for a Nikon F adapter for my Nikkor 1.4 50mm prime.

I looked into that last night for my Brother and I don't think it is a certified dealer.
 
If you are in Canada, you can buy it from cameracanada.com. They still have one, they had two but... but not anymore. I bought one today from them :)
 
I am looking for the fastest place that is an authorized Panasonic dealer. BH is back ordered, and i can't seem to find it anywhere.
 
According to their web site, Precision Camera in Austin is an authorized dealer for ALL the products they carry. Either way, a simple phone call to them would answer the question.

And their web site still says it's in stock.
 
I don't care where i buy the camera, i just don't want to buy it from a scam shop. Has anyone bought from Precision Camera. I will also check on one of those websites that states the legitimacy of online businesses. I have been saving money up for a camera for 4 years and i would hate to see myself lose it by buying from a bad website.
 
Not sure this is of any help to anyone, but thought it was interesting; after a monthlong trip to the states, where I scoured Southern California and finally found a GH1 at the last minute, I come home to Panama, and I see a GH1 for $1499 on the shelves of a local electronic store this morning. They've got no idea what it is. Of course I can't seem to find any faster lenses or adapters down here...

Odd that Panasonic ships here before the U.S. hahahaha!
 
Precision camera seems legit, but they specifically say on their return policy that they do NOT accept returns on digital cameras.
I placed a pre-order with crutchfield on Saturday and they told me that I was only the second pre-order, and they'd be getting in about 45 as soon as panasonic ships to them.
I called panasonic a couple days ago, and they said that since their website says "back ordered until september" and that they are expecting them in any day. The first shipments will go to the distributers first.. So it almost seems like pre-ordering from somewhere is a safe bet. Any place you place a pre-order with can tell you how many are in line ahead of you.. Unless you trust Precision enough to buy something that you can't return!
 
Yeah i think i will go with them. I will call and see if they have it in stock. If so i plan on getting it from them.

I picked up the phone today at 3pm and got it shipped today with overnight delivery.
No pre-order, no waiting...Impressive!

I'm going to second K&S. Really cool people there.

Also, I spoke to someone tonight at DV Expo, they ordered a GH1 from Panasonic Direct on Monday with overnight shipping, and it arrived today! That's pretty quick.
 
Ill check Keeble & Shuchat. Do i call and order over the phone, because I cant seem to find any of the information on the website. If they do that and they will ship it faster than panasonic, i will get it from them.

I just called them. I don't think they have an online storefront for ordering.
 
I just bought mine from Keeble & Shuchat over the phone. It shipped today and with UPS overnight, I'll have it tomorrow! They are very nice people, there was no sales tax either. They do offer returns within 15 days..
