Purchasing a Dvx at a good PRICE!

I just purchased a dvx from EVsonline.com because of all the rep it has been getting for being a legit authorized dealer. But then I found out all these other sites that are claiming to be authorized but selling the dvx for almost a $1000 less. I just wanted to know again the advantages of paying so much for the dvx on EVS than just buying from these other sites. Here's one site I'm talking about, they're selling the camera for $2599.

true story. ..in my city theres this white utility van with a couple highschool age looking kids in it that have been known to drive around the city selling electronics and stereo equipment out of the back to people on the street for the passed 10 years. you can get a pair of 12" brand name studio monitors for 100.00. or whatever you bargain them down to. so why should i buy them from a reputable store?

sorry guy ..its a grey market scam .. i bet they are in brooklyn NY..

I bought a grey market cam. Luckily I haven't had any problems, but if I did, I have no warranty. Piece of mind, baby. That's what you are paying for.

..how much was your total sale price for the camera and al the worthless accessories they sold you? id be willing to bet it was just as much as buying the camera from a reputable dealer.

Jlucan - Most of the places that offer the price for less than wholesale are "bait and switch" shops. They will promise you a low price but will not include standard accessories. You will then need to pay more to receive accessories that typically come with the camera. Also they might try to sell you a lot of add-ons (tripod, etc.) and if you don't buy the extras then they will tell you the camera is out-of-stock or on backorder. They lure people in with low prices. Don't get hooked by these worms.

Buyer beware.

iamloser,

You are dead on. The package was 3600, and the only things worthwhile in it were the case, and a UV filter. The rest was worthless. After months of hassle I was able to return the two "lenses" they sent for a meager refund.

The irony is, had I gone with the package a local dealer offered, I would have gotten the camera, 4x4 mattebox, filters, a good wide angle lens (don't remember which one)and a whole buttload of other useful stuff for 5K. OF course I had no odea what any of that other stuff was used for, so I didn't think I would need it. Big mistake.
