purchasing a d90

So I may be able to get a D90+Grip for very very cheap! I currently own a DVX100B, but would you guys recommend the built in 35mm mount and HD vs. the lack of manual controls and professional audio? Does the D90 do 1080p and 720p or just 720? Do any of you use the Zoom H4 recorder? How well does that work? It doesn't come with any lenses but I have a 75-300mm and a 28-80mm for my old Canon Rebel 2000 that has ceased to work... Does is do the thing the 5D Mk II does where it overheats?

Those lenses might not work on the D90. Check to see if those older Canon lenses will work on a newer Nikon camera. The Zooms does a good job.

720p, you can trick it into letting you do manual, i do it all the time. (no autofocus though)

i got my d90 refurbed for $650 about 5-6 months ago so thats an idea of a good price.

you can record 5 mins straight, but if your doing shorter takes you acn keep going for hours as long as you power off the screen inbetween takes.

Audio is a big downside but for hte price its not bad.

If you can afford the Canon 7D is giong to be awesome, if not a d90 is a great camera. Im loving mine, ive done about 4 small shorts so far. Going to shoot a documentary this week, then another short, and a longer short in the next few months. ALl with the d90

Is there an adapter to fit Canon lenses on a Nikon body? I always thought it only worked the other way around (Nikon to Canon).

Well the 75-300mm lens is a Tamron and I looked it up and you are able to get a Canon, Nikon, Pentax or Sony Mount for it. The 28-80mm is Canon and came with the Canon Rebel years ago... Is the grip for the bottom of the D90 a bigger battery?

The grip for the D90 is the Nikon MB D80. You can load 2 EN EL batteries to give you double the (still) photography time and upwards of 6-7 frames per second. It should come with an adapter allowing for AA batteries also.
