Anybody excited about seeing EX1 footage on the big screen? i hope i get to see a film-out and not a 2/4K projection. either way, i'm kinda excited. ok, maybe just curious.

How will we know which shots are from the EX1?

use your imagination. think of the spaces they shot the scenes in. if the scene is in a car and the angle looks nearly impossible with a full-sized camera then it was probably shot with an EX1. if its a crazy hand-held shot then it was probably captured with an EX1.

the "behind the scenes" stills i saw were of a naked EX1. no adapters.

I have seen the trailer and man! I have to say, there is my baby, my little camera!



I mostly recognized it in the very wide shots and in some of the tele dialogue shots. There is also some video look in some movements. Maybe he shot at 30p? In the IMDB forums they were saying that.

man, i don't know where they are. maybe i saw them on another forum. try searching for EX1 and Public Enemies. something should pop up.

i saw on closer look on hbo....they were using the canon xl1 i believe....but it was a canon...the camera man was riding on the side of car filming johnny standing on the runningboard on the driverside while it was driving...it looked kind of funny...seeing that old camcorder...but they used it.....it was not an ex1 for sure.

well, i can't deny what you saw. i know i personally saw stills of an operator holding an EX1 and according to the film's editor. it was an EX1. check out the 7:00 mark on this podcast clip.

hey u no what...i just watched it again......i need glasses....hehe...its not a canon...its looks like an ex-1.....my bad.....but the lens hood looks like the panny hvx...the bodies are alot alike....i guess it could be an ex-1....but they both look alike.......anyway didnt see any film mags...looks like its all shot digital...pretty cool..u are probably right bro.....anyway....im off to the eye doctor!

great new for L.A. viewers. The Landmark Theatres in West LA are showing the film on 2 screens. 4K Sony digital projector and film. i'm gonna see it on film first since its a fresh print and digital projection next time. enjoy!!!!

i just saw public enemies! I'm not sure, but it looked like Michael Mann shot some of it in 30p?

The look might be attributed to a 360 deg shutter angle.

How do you set the shutter like this?

HBO has a behind the scenes show on Public Enemes and there is a clear shot of an EX1 being used for a moving car shot.
