Public Domain

So I am assuming that most of us around this site are movie buffs. And recently, with one of the MonsterFest entries I was involved in, we hit a short snag (that was resolved) with a public domain clip used in the movie. So in the interest of not only having fun with movie trivia, but education for us low to no budget movie makers (as well as the moderators of the DVXFests); I would like to invite any and all interested into throwing down films, tv shows, books, short stories, anything mainstream that we all know that we can all have full access to without legal or financial repercussions. I do ask that you double and even triple check your information from multiple sources before you post. That's right, sometimes Wikipedia's info can be too good to be 100% true. And please reference and even offer links to the information. By all means, have fun.

anything that the US govt made or released is public domain (after all, you paid for it with your taxes). In some cases, rights are restricted for a short period of time to allow the Principal Investigator to complete their work; e.g., Hubble telescope data is only availalbe to the PI astronomer for one year to complete his publishing, after that all Hubble data is public domain.
