PTool Mac WineBottler issues

So I finally got myself a GF1 and I'm having issues trying to hack the firmware. I've read reports that mac users might have issues with patches not working which is what I'm experiencing. I'm using PTool 3.51d. Multiple languages and manual movie mode works but compression settings don't. Does anybody have a workaround? An earlier version of PTool? Or an alternative to WineBottler?

I can't get PTool to run as a Winebottler app at all. I'm just opening in Wine, under the option on start up and not having a problem with it. Same PTool as you and on 10.6.7.

I can get lpowell's M-JPEG patches working but I can't get any of the AVCHD patches to work.

I run PTool through CrossOver, it's a paid app but I've never had any problems with it. You could also try VirtualBox which is free but you have to supply an OS.
