PSA: Vegas 9.0d released

New features sound awesome, however, I'm having problems after installing it. The program runs very slowly and wants to crash almost every time a project is loaded. Anyone else having the same kind of problems?

That's actually something i'm really interested in, since most of the DVDs I burn in Architect consist of a black title screen with a play button. I have to render to Mpeg-2, then render the audio, open Architect and put everything together right now, but a simple burn timeline to dvd would save me a lot of time since I don't do too many discs with intricate menus, just something to hand off for viewing.

32-bit or 64?

it's on both, i typically use 64-bit.

Core 2 Duo T7300 2.0ghz laptop, 4gb ram, windows 7 professional x64, nvidia Geforce 8600m

I finally got it working, the aviplug.dll fix worked perfectly. Now to finish tweaking this vid and playing with the new features!

Sony have now released this fix for slow load times in 9.0d -

Close the program. Now press CTRL+SHIFT while double-clicking on the program's icon to launch it. Continue to hold the CTRL & SHIFT keys until the program is fully up and loaded.

In newer programs, you will see a window that asks "Do you want to reset all preferences to default values?" Place a checkmark next to "Delete all cached application data" and then click Yes.

I went from Vegas 9.0b 32-bit to 9.0d 64-bit on my Windows 7 64-bit computer and the difference in stability is astounding.

I forget now why I used 32-bit on 9.0b but I think the 64 was causing me problems at the time. This version of 64-bit is fantastic. Crashes are uncommon now and rendering H264 always uses 100% CPU utilization (i7 with Hyper-Threading) which I love.

I tried this and it does not work for me. Also tried an un-install reinstall and that doesn't work either. Load times can be up to 15minutes on 9.0d. How can I get access to my old .dll file to try this fix? Thanks,

same here, the only was I got it to work was swapping the aviplug.dll with 9.0c, the ctrl-shift method does nothing

the hard way... uninstall, reinstall, reupdate. I copied all 5 of them for good measure (from the VidcapIO and FileIO plugins directories of both 32 and 64-bit as well as the one in DVD Architect's folder)

first time I did the update, I did not uninstall. Up until now, updates to existing installs have worked fine. Then after this problem arose, I uninstalled Vegas and did a fresh install of just 9.0d. Still have problems.

This 9.0d issue is really bad when working with Cineform clips. After submitting a support ticket, Cineform was able to reproduce my issue, but said the problem was on Sony's end. Also submitted a support ticket with Sony- no response yet.

wtf? So weird. Mine works perfectly with 1080p GH1 files converted with Cineform.

Then again I haven't had any of the aviplug.dll or whatever problems others have reported. I think it's because I upgraded from 9.0b to 9.0d. It was also a 32-bit to 64-bit but I think it's really because of the b -> d instead of c -> d.
