FS7: Proxy files or similar for client?

Just one other possibility that might help out other people in future, would be to use a completely independent lo-fidelity camera setup of some sort that's recording the screen of your monitor during the shoot. I'm thinking of a low-end DSLR or even a smartphone (potentially even the client's!). Obviously for this to be useful you need to have the timecode displayed on the output monitor at all times. :-)

Talk about old school! That brings back memories of the days before quad splitters - when we did multicam shoots we'd make our own by stacking together 4 monitors (these were tube monitors, so they were basically boxes and didn't need to be rigged) and shoot the monitors with another camera going to a 3/4" deck so the director would have a review copy to see all the cameras and do his paper cut.

I just found this thread. It is too bad that the FS7 doesn't have proxy recording... I use it all the time with the C300 Mark2 as an emergency backup, has served as a decent recording for some broadcast outlets in a hurry, it is a great way to send small files over the internet, and it is nice to hand small files to a client with LUT applied.

I'm late to owning the FS7... and I am not finding it to be very user-friendly. I bit the bullet and bought it because enough clients request it... but I am not super-psyched about things like lack of proxy recording. Maybe that old NanoFlash recorder has one more trick up it's sleeve....?!
