I know there is an after effects section on this forum, however i have had my topic posted for 2 days with no response and i figured perhaps thats because that forum section doesnt get as much coverage as this section. Mods, please feel free to remove this if you consider it out of line.

My question is, i film on dvx100b in 24PA and i capture with adobe premier 2.0 and edit on a 24P timeline. Lets say i want to take the raw footage i captured with adobe and import it to an after effects 7.0 project and create a new composition for it to add w/e effects i desire. What are the propper settings for the AE composition if i shot on 24PA and want to work with the progressive footage PROPPERLY so in AE when im done with my project i can export it back to a DV-AVI and have premier read it properly and continue editing with the new footage in premier? It seems i just cant get it right, perhaps there are some options i need to select? Also, when exporting from AE to a DV AVI, what is the propper export method? (remove pulldown/etc) Keep in mind i want to export to a raw dv file so i can then import it back to premier and add it to my film.

Thanks in advance,

In after Effects set your comp frame rate to 23.976. When exporting from AE make sure fields are set to off. I like to render an uncompressed file because most of my final delivery is on DVD and I don't want to keep compressing my files. Re-import back into Premiere and render.

You don't need to mess with the pulldown, AE will automatically recognize your 24p footage. I should show up as 23.976.

If I were working with 24p footage, I would edit in a 29.97 timeline, and render an uncompressed file using lower fields first.

Hope this helps
