FEATURE: Proof of Concept Trailer for The Ferret Squad

You could reach out to the production companies that have produced content for Disney/Nick/Hallmark recently. Might be a bit easier to get in touch with them than the gigantic corporations.

Have you checked out Marvista yet? They deal with a lot of family content and TV movies. http://www.marvista.net/

For some reason I don't think Marvista was on my list but I just emailed them now. Thanks for reminding me about them!

Yeah, when you look up Disney on IMDBpro, you get like 3 pages of Disney companies and branches of the company, affilations etc, but there's never any useful info listed like email addresses for aquisitions. I wonder if there's someone on DVXuser who has contacts at any of these companies?

I will keep trying with the production companies tho... Thanks guys I appreciate the advice and feedback :)

Cut the middlemen, look up Mickey in the phone book? :)

VERY impressive! I remember looking over the "Jake & Jasper" presskit quite awhile ago.....now I have to look that one up.
I'm sure you'll get this funded.

Thanks Zaza! Jake & Jasper: A Ferret Tale was good practice and I self distributed it quite successfully.

No news yet but I have had some meetings... It is definitely not a quick process.

This looks like something my 9yr old would love. I thought the trailer looked great, audio was clean and crisp. But I have to be honest, I second the font is terrible. It reminds me of comic books, which if this were made from a comic, I could learn to accept it. But as it's an original screenplay, the font isn't working. And it matters, it's amazing how somthing like a font can actually turn people off. You can do as you like after all it's your film, o:) haha. Congrats, keep us posted, When it's made I will buy a downloadable copy for my kids to watch on their kindles.

Looks like you have something marketable, and with a message, and the skills to possibly pull it off. Good work. Let me know when I can buy a copy for my kids :)

Hey thanks. You know what's cool is I used all the original location sound. Except for the voiceover which we recorded in our sound guys bedroom. The sound was pretty decent quality and I didn't want to bother ADR'ing that many cast members for a concept trailer so our sound designer worked with what we had, sometimes chopping up words from alternate takes etc.... anyways I'm glad you liked it.

Ok about the font, are you talking about the font in The Ferret Squad logo? Or the font on the screen when it says "Coming Soon" or "California", etc? Similar, I know, but not exactly the same. Either way, I am not married to either one and don't even know what the latter one is called.. My graphic designer and I have talked about redoing the logo with an original font one day soon but it hasn't happened yet. I think it's kinda funny that you guys found it so off putting because I really don't see what's wrong with it! And I'm normally anal about fonts! But rest assured, I will not be using this font ever, ever again.

It's really cool reading that people will buy this for their kids when it comes out or that they are sure it will get funding. Especially in this crowd of people. Wow. It's hard not to get excited about that. However nothing has happened yet and I'm still busting my ass trying to get the word out and find a producer/s. I hope I don't miss my opportunity to film this this spring/summer.

HAHA, Thats funny about the font.
Yes, continue to try getting it out there, It will happen, usually when you least expect it. But as the others have already said, it's very marketable. just hang in there.
