Promo video for Yoga and Spa in Santa Fe. Sweet!

looks good. how/where will this be presented? obviously too long to be a commercial spot, so i'm curious.

wouldn't some kind of new age/ ambient music be more appropriate? that coldplay song has been overused, and it just doesn't fit with the female narrator's voice or the yoga thing in general.

i feel like it could use more setups of people actually doing yoga besides that one shot in front of the blown out window. perhaps some slow dolly pushes or zooms as well. slow camera moves work nicely with slow yoga moves. and a variety of close and wide shots would have been great.

also, lots of those still images were very nice, and i feel like you could do more with them as far as motion and transitions are concerned.

i'm really interested though in how you intend to display and/or distribute this video, and how you got involved in the project.

thanks for sharing.

This will be on BODY of Santa Fe's website, sent out through mail to local residents, and handed out to potential customers at tourist hot spots like hotels and resorts. The Coldplay song was actually just suppose to be a temporary song for the rough cut until our client picked a song she liked, but she liked the way it flowed and she wanted to use it.

This is the third edited version, this one has been fined tuned several times and I originally had more zooms and some more expressive shots, but the guy I was working with wanted it to be more subtle.

My video partner set this job up, he has done many photo shots with them for their ads and website. They had asked him if he could do a video for them, but he didn't have the resources for it. After being introduced to me and working on a previous project he asked if I would like to work on this video. So, that is how I got involved. It was just him and I who produced this video from pre to post.

interesting. that's a good idea. keep us updated about how that works out. did you ultimately get licensing for the coldplay song then? best of luck.

We are just making the video, our client is responsible for rights and distribution so it will be up to them.

Coldplay doesn't work here. Besides, don't you have to pay royalties or get sued?

Technically, I think that will be the responsibility of the client, as they own the piece and will be distributing it. But really, is there anywhere Coldplay DOES work? :)

I think the video looks great though. It moves, and makes everything about the spa look enticing. Nice work, I think.
