Prolonged A/C Hook-up:  damaging?

I just got my cam (from Willoughbys) and I'm playing with it. Is it dangerous if I leave it plugged into the wall (w/ AC adaptor) for a long time, either when the camera is OFF or ON?

Also, I read this in another post, but I can't find it through the search for some reason:

How do I set it so the LCD doesn't automatically turn off every few minutes?

Thanks,

Will

If you want yoru camera to stop automatically turning off you need to switch it to STBY mode. You can do that in the menu when your camera is NOT on the VTR mode but the in camera mode.

As far as I am aware, you will do no damage to your camera if it is left plugged into an electrical socket. Just make sure you have a surge protector between your camera and the wall socket. I've heard some weird stories about computers getting fried during an electrical storm so a surge protector is always a good idea.

Re: standby mode - it's under the "tape protection" menu selection (at least on the 100 and probably 100A).
