Projectile Vomit Device?

Hello everyone,

I am new to the forums and happy to be here.

Figuring out a plan to execute this effect has been bugging me lately.

What I want to do is create a device that shoots out fake vomit. I would love for it to be some kind of tube that attaches to the side actors head and film from a profile angle so it looks like the vomit is coming out of his mouth. Something very similar to the lardass scene in Stand By Me. I dont want the effect to be digital. Any ideas?

Any help will be appreciated, thanks!
 
Ipecac is good - oh, sorry, device. How much vomit do you need? For just one shot, replace the end off an old style bicycle pump with tubing that diameter and fill with vomit.
 
I know DARPA was working on a PVD for a while, but I think that program got scrapped with the sequester. Barring that, the above option is a good one. This is the basic layout used by pretty much everyone. Just tape it up and plan your shots to block it right.
 
Presuming you only need sensible amounts of vomit, I'd stick with the traditional low-budget method - give the actor a big mouthful of vegetable soup, ready to 'regurgitate' at the right moment.
 
I had 3 semi automatic units around the house for years - unpredictable though - worked surprisingly well when new and then tapered off only to work again sporadically in their late teens. They've all left home now.
