Not quite finished yet, but wanted to share and get some feedback. Be gentle:shocked:
Wish I had some nicer glass. This project will pay for some!

A few pick up shots were added with a Pannasonic Hpx 2000 1080/24p

Nice work. The interview almost looked like a green screen with the separation from the background. So nice and soft. That Tokina looks good.

Looks pretty good. Just not a fan of the vignett and blur effects it seems to have on this. Also it looks like you may have used a skin softening effect which looks a little heavy handed. really like the wide land scape shot.

Looks good. Only comment I would offer is a fault of lighting and makeup - the hot spots on both cheeks and forehead are a correctable distraction. Otherwise good shooting and editing.

I have the same lens and love it and hate it at the same time - the expanding physical length as you zoom to 50mm makes it difficult to use in a matte box.

Yes, yes and yes! Lol what can I say?
I'm a Magic Bullet Whore!

Good piece. My only small quibbles have to do with audio. Her voice needs to be more centered in the stereo field rather than way off to the left all the time. And there were a few edits with very quick fades of the sound at the end of the shot that cut off the last syllable enough that it was annoying. A little room tone over the cuts might allow you to avoid or at least soften the fades. The visual style is, well, "stylish" but appropriate to this subject and the purpose of the video, I think.

Thanks G,

I always forget to center the audio before I share. BTW, the food in that joint was rediculous!

I haven't shot any local commercials in a long time, but the crew and I used to like doing restaurant ads the best ... there was always plenty of free food for everyone when we were done shooting it!

Looks like some of my observations have already been made, but here's my thoughts:
- Not so crazy about the opening title- it might be nice to incorporate the Chamber's logo, the restaurant or something.

- The audio- interview on the left (as already noted). The music's on both channels, but it sounds like they mixed all the drums to the right?
You keep the music under the interviews, (not under the first?) but should it be a touch higher? Might smooth the transition between interview/b-roll sections.

- First shot- my fave, it looks great, so does she.

- :15, case in point for excessive edge blur. A little is nice to draw the eye to the subject at the center, but this feels like a dream sequence or something ;^)
Maybe half as much vignette and 1/3 the blur?

- Very nice interview (yes, a slight hot spot on the forehead). I like the tungsten subject/daylight BG- very nice combo!

- :52 (as noted) I get some artifacts especially in the chair backs to the right of and behind the piano. Also somebody (the subject?) walks in the edge of the frame then spins around and walks out. Reset and try the shot again?

- 1:32 audio transition could be tightened? Feels like the music goes down before the interview comes up. And either room tone or a slower audio dissolve might make the
transition smoother?

- On the Success title, you begin the incoming audio under the title. On the The Future title, you begin the incoming audio at the end of the title. I think it works better the first way- starting the new audio during the title.

- Not a fan of the whiteflashes between talking heads, especially for a classy joint like this- any other transition you could use here?

- Since the music consists of just a guitar riff, a flute riff, and the drums, would a change of music (for a change of topic/changing gears) work at The Future title?

- "I love DC" would an exterior work here? Timelapse? Slo mo?

- I'd love to see more food!!!

-Ending shot- really nice! Nice bar BG!

-Ending title- again, something with Chamber logo?

What's the "Low noise setting"? Barry's?

How did you light the interview and the opening/closing shot?
And how did you expose for her face? i've only shot one African American AF100 interview so far, looking for tips.

Do you prefer posting videos in the general AF100 section instead of the Footage/Grabs section? Just curious...

Nice project- nice look and feel, thanks for sharing!

Oh, to spice it up, should you try something like this?

OK, now thats creepy…LMAO!

Thanks for the input GC. I'm going to fiddle after some client input. For the interview (dark complexions) I always use a small piece of 1/4 amber gel. Nice and warm.
Key light was an 420w Omni light with Chimera softbox and a 30 grid.
