Red is resolution independant. So what you start with you also end with, is as far as screen size resolution etc. Also on a similar note red does not really care what frame rate you work at. You can access the preferences and go to the general tab to change your frame rate. you can also select a custom or project frame rate to export, depending on your workflow, under the EXPORT MEDIA tab.
I hope this was clear. If not let me know and maybe I can better explain it to you.
Well, the problem is that when I create a 3d title, and animate it, then it looks like interlaced on my client monitor(when pauzed, it flikkers), I also see interlace artifacts on my computer monitor. So Boris renders in fields, but I want it progressive, because I work with a progressive project in Avid Xpress Pro.
Go to those settings i told you about in preferences, should solve the issue. Also you may want to turn on 1:2:1 de-flicker... i believe its under the local project tab in the preference settings.
Also, just a few other things for you to check. You are in a progressive project, AND using Progressive footage. Are you using the stand alone red app or using it in the timeline (as an AVX)? Do you get the same flickering (on your client monitor) once you render the title?
Well, I use Boris Red in the timeline, within the Avid app.
When I have made an effect, I render it in the timeline, en then after rendering, the effect is not progressive.
When I export from Red, then I can set the output to 'no fields' or something like that, so then when I import back in Avid it is progressive.
But I like working within Avid, so I don't need to export/import.
