Programming schedule Software?

NOO i idea where to post this but since i'm recommending the hmc150 i put it here.
A friend of mine wants to start up a channel (here in JA) and wants to shoot all HD to cheap media (not tape). He's a sony fanboy but definately considering the hmc after i told him about it....ANYWAY... u guys know of software that can program the layout of shows? Like program listing on a channel for the day...software that makes it easy to organise the shows and u can just let it run automatically. Even more specifically h.264 distribution?

I know nothing about this so i told him i'd ask.

You might want to check with Grass Valley. Their playout and K2 setup is pretty nice. If you want to PM me his email, I could probably get him in touch with the person who would tell him what direction to go.

A company called MediaLooks have playout software that is quite good. i also use their video mixer for live mixing.
