I need this to start a ongoing fight here on the forums Im not about that so please no why in the world would we do this kinda postings, just need some help from those who know. As an action sports company we have been put down time and time over lately for moving to the M43 format saying its not good and the AF cant keep up and all this and for those who want to know, my 2 cents is yes yes it can. Its really doing a good job. The GH4 is lighting fast with AF, tracking isnt on the level as the 1DX but not to far, but we will get more into that with our next blog post later this month. Im wondering can we use the new ProFoto B1 Mono with the GH4, I know it wont have TTL and thats fine we can set it up, but Im wondering can it send out the signal to the airmote to flash the B1 wireless. Thanks

I'm assuming you are shooting action sports photos rather than video due to the flash question. I have no experience with the flash you are asking about so can't comment on that.

In terms of shooting action sports with M43, anyone who says it's not good enough is talking through their backside.

I recently shot a mountain bike race and while I am a video shooter first and foremost, I took quite a few photos as well as video at this race. In terms of video, I always use manual focus but for a few shots (and because I kept switching back and forth from stills to video on my GH3) I accidentally left the autofocus on. Well, I never thought I would say this as I have never given Autofocus a chance in these situations but it performed really well. I'm actually amazed at how well the AF tracked the fast moving subjects and I have no issues using these shots in the final video.

As for the photos I took at this race, I have had many compliments on the set. There were photographers there with 7D's, 5D's, D800's etc and while Im not here to blow my own trumpet, have been told by those that have seen most of the photos that mine (with my GH3) were the preferred. Now, I'm not a photographer either but I think the photos speak for themselves. Let others put you down (it's just their insecurities), but let your images speak for themselves.

Good luck!

Just how we feel as well, we moved to this system from our Canon FF cameras like the 5D3 and are loving it, there is room for better for sure but if you know what your doing you can really make some amazing stuff happen. We are waiting for the new 40-150 2.8 as that will be our motocross and downhill lens of choice and then the 300mm I feel like will be the lens to have for surfing photos and video.

Mount transmitter on hotshoe, see if there's a manual mode you can switch to. Set flash output manually.
