What is the best way to create a look? AND is this the best way to do this across various camera platforms. 5D, 7D, 100B hvx200

1. In Camera - use various settings
2. Using Curves, contrast, levels in my NLE
3. SET everything neutral in the 100 B and correct in the NLE
4. Use base settings in Magic Bullet and tweak

Your input is greatly appreciated

Achieving a "look" with just one camera is one thing - across different cameras is a whole other ball of wax.
The reason is that different cameras have different base looks to their footage.
Example: Setting the gamma to "x" on footage from camera A may produce a very different end result on footage shot on camera B. etc. etc.....

What you really must do is learn what the general image controls really do.
I.e. gamma curves, pedestal, color balance, gain, and a few other basics.

Then no matter what the camera used - YOU can easily adjust the image to exactly what YOU like to see.
And you'll always be able to get YOUR results.

Google up online tutorials on color correction, gamma curves, image/camera gain etc. and have a blast seeing how easy it can be when approached the right way.

You are right. I was not trying to mash up all cameras into one general assumption. What I was asking was setting cameras up neutrally and then apply looks in post... I was not clear initially.

Thanks
