Do you have a site or article for that? I contacted Matt Eakin, who shot an episode. He has an EX1 but they told him to use an Z1U for continuity of the look.

TNT's Leverage had pick up shot coverage with the Sony EX1. Source: http://www.dreamloom.com/interviews/interview-with-leverage-creators/

Quantum of Solace's behind the scenes footage.

Road Wars (UK reality show)

The 2008 Olympics' behind the scenes interviews/other stuff were shot with an EX1/EX3.

I have reason to believe A&E's "Parking Wars" is shot with a Sony EX1. The footage looks VERY familiar. When other camera ops are seen in some shots it's definitely a Sony HD palmcorder. I can't confirm this though.

I'm not sure of/if there was documentary made but a 3 month shoot in Antarctica was shot with an EX1: http://www.sony.co.uk/biz/content/id/1217404937861

I'm trying to verify each show was using an EX1 or EX3, and I'm not always finding verification. If you post a link it helps. Not just a link to the show, but to an article or interview that says they were using the EX1/3.

Thanks.

There's that MTV show about a documentary maker named Andrew Jenks that stays with the people he's doing the story on for a week or so. The show is called "The World according to Jenks". I saw an EX3 in the last episode when they were shooting in a car. It's a pretty cool show too.

Would it be safe to assume that when the EX1/3 is used for a 'real' movie to be shown on a real theatrical screen, they are using a NanoFlash?

I don't have a link, but I do the color grading for the show. Does that count? ;)

GTTV used to use the Z1U but have phased it out gradually over the past 12 months or so (which is great for a number of reasons).

In District 9, Public Enemies and This is It the behind the scenes footage did not show a Nano being used, though there have been other scenes where it was. The biggest advantage of the Nano is during scenes with so much movement that it would overwhelm the camera's codec. This could be from rustling leaves, waving grass, waves, etc. or for green screening.

List updated.

What's the point of gathering this information? Trying to convince someone of some fact with empirical evidence? Or is it some kind of other exercise?

Being the bottom end of the Cinealta line no movie studio is going to brag that they used an EX1. However, its capable of really nice images. So, I figured it was probably being used on more than we thought, but rarely being reported.

I figured that if I wanted to know, other people might want to know. :)

Hey Andrew,

you shoot GTTV? I'm their SF guy, and yes , we recently switched to EX1s

Not sure really why anyone cares whats shot on what camera, but there are TONS of reality and cable non-fiction stuff shot on the EX1/EX3.

Not a shooter but the colorist. I love it when we shoot around SF 'cause you guys always knock it outta the park (which makes my job a heck of a lot easier).
