Here's a discussion with Panasonic, where they reveal that the final production unit will have a much improved AA filter which should take care of the moire seen on pre-pro units.

The discussion is at the 38 minute mark.

They also demo the on-screen touch focus feature. Goodbye focus puller.

i think they are meaning "a new AA filter" on the GH3 over the GH2, i don't think they are saying "a new AA filter" from the AA filter on pre-production GH3's.

the guy from panasonic looks very uncomfortable with any technical questions, i'd guess he is a sales rep who is trained to repeat the usual stuff.

This distinction is far too often missed on camera blogs, with some repeating marketing BS without understanding.

I read it as having a better AA filter over the pre-production one. Whether correct or not. And yeah, reps.......

they are defiantly not suggesting a newer AA filter than the AA filter on the pre-production model.

they talk about how japan have done good work with the new AA filter, yet they are talking about the predecessor the GH2 at the time and how some people commented on its anti aliasing.

then the presenter suddenly switches to saying, so don't be fooled by the footage seen from pre-production model GH3's, and the panasonic guy nods and kinda looks like he just going to nod to whatever the guy comes out with.

its a bit all over the place so i'd not take any confidence from what they are saying, doesn't seem to be anything new from what came out a month ago.

yeah they both look kind of scare to ask/answer the questions everyone wants to know :)

sorry to sound like a spoil sport, i just notice how suggestion/presumption can really lead to mis-information.

You've got that right!

Anyway, anyone serious about the camera will just wait to get it into their hands and make their own observations. All the rest is Intergnat noise.
