Production Testing on $299 Follow Focus

FYI to iamloser: the model airplane tires are designed to take a 20-30# RC airplane landing at speeds of up to 30 mph. They don't wear apart; at least the ones that I've seen on planes with 200+ landings. Solid rubber tires have issues with weight and compaction---they don't grip as well. Also, they're NOT foam rubber, they're an open-celled rubber composite.
They usually outlast the planes they're put on---the planes eventually crash, the tires are still good, but the plane is balsa and plastic scrap.

Probably by late September for salable product. I want some feedback from the testing units, as well as the ability to deconstruct them to make sure that wear/use patterns are normal.
As for pictures mounted on a DVX, I can work on that this weekend when I test the test models before they're shipped.

Final note to everyone: Thank you for your interest. I am going with 9 test models instead of 3. I have contacted everyone but three testers, which will happen in the next couple of days.

..i fly model airplanes regularily, I own 2 and have flown for years. i still think you should use a different wheel. i would look into a soft solid rubber wheel not hard rubber.. but the same base rubber used in hundreds of devices like printers and copy machines ect.. for friction based operation. ..or at least a better looking airplane wheel. but whatever you think is best. i was just offering a suggestion to help make it better. if you feel it wouldnt then certainly go with what you feel suits your product.

iamloser, thanks for your the input. Have experimented with making a custom hub for the tire material; kind of time and $$$ intensive! Have a couple of Dupro tires...I thnk that's the type/material you may be thinking. Wonderful stuff, just that a 3.25" diameter wheel weighs like 4 times a much as the current one.
