These are production stills from my new short film “Anything”. I’m pretty pleased with the imagery and I’m forever impressed with the capabilities of the Panasonic DVX100B. I also can’t help but have a deeper understanding of my own visual art. I don’t know what it is but I like deep rich colors for my films. I decided to go ahead and work my high contrast flare. I still have a long way to go when it comes to shooting fiction but I think I’m getting there and I really enjoy the effort.

Good work man. You're second image is probably the best of the bunch.

I would say that you have interesting style when it comes to framing, not very conventional, but I don't know what style you were going for.

Lighting wise, the images are very flat. Play with your contrast ratios, play with shadows and hilights. Make your images come alive with lighting and you'll see a dramatic increase in production value for your works.

They look alright man, but I agree with what PaPa said about the lighting. It's a bit flat.

You should try out some three-point lighting. Or at least remember to have some backlight on your subject.

But it would be cool to see some footage:thumbup:

Good luck!

Hi there. I'm a woman by the way. Also I understand what you are saying and I'm very much aware of 3 point lighting and use it on my docs, ect. However, I just have to say that what you guys are saying is both true but desirable to me. I really like the lighting for this film and I chose the lighting I did on purpose. Yes it isn't what you would call standard but then we come back to art being quite subjective. But I do value your input and taking the time to check out the images. :) I'm looking forward to doing more non-conventional filmmaking that I'm sure will wrinkle your nose. :)

I'll put some footage up in a few. :)
