Probono work.... What do you guys ask for?

As most people know..sometimes you will do projects for friends. This girl asked me to help her shoot a music video for a short movie she did. It seems like the camera guy backed out and needs somebody to help them shoot the video

When doing probono work like this what do most of you guys ask for when it comes to credits, copyrights to the film images, ect.

A newbie wondering.

Dont forget free beer, i dont think i would do any work without at least that. (and im not talking about the crappy domestic kind)

This is key. On my feature I couldn't afford to pay the actors, so I just had a cooler ready for all shoots.

I wouldn't bring beer to the set though... maybe after wrapped of the day... but definitely not during.

I always made either beer or Canadian Mist (a nice canadian blend, thats very tasty, basically a cheaper version of Crown Royal), available to all my actors during shooting (since i could not afford to pay them).

I also usually provided dinner, or at least snacks.

I mean theres only so much you can ask people to come and work for free.

There was a shoot I was on and most ppl worked for free and they had beer in the cooler... so everyone was having the time of their lives... and by half way through the shoot... the DP was too drunk and he passed out...

lol, ok, maybe i should rephrase by saying some beer (like enough for everyone to have 2-4).

You have to also keep people on task, let them have a drink between shots, but make sure everyone knows when its time to get into character and work, to do so. I usually have short shoots (3 hours long or so), so i have to maximize every second.

LOL, i do see how that could become a problem though.
