Problems with resolution

Hello,
I'm currently working on some freelance videos and one of them is for an iPad magazine. Because they wanted it to play vertically on the iPad they shot the video with the camera turned sideways. Now they are asking me to edit this video vertically in a resolution of 768x1024 so it's played vertically on the ipad.

I know this is unusual and I don't know how I can get this done on Final Cut. I know I could use Compressor to help me with this, by cropping and changing the resolution. Anyone to help me?

Thanks a lot!

(the video was shot on a resolution of 1920x1080 and that's what it looks like)

There's no way you're going to be able to do this without using black borders on the left and right side, not unless you're okay with zooming in quite a bit in post and cropping the hell out of it.

I can manage to crop the sides of it. How could I get this done?

Sounds like you can add your own custom "Sequence settings", and input your own dimensions. Your going to have to tweak several settings... But you CAN have your own custom frame setup without having to go into cropping.
Just go under sequence settings, and you should find them under "audio/video settings, then sequence presets... then duplicate and edit."

That would be VERY helpful, but what version of FCP were you talking about? I can't find sequence settings on X... Already regretted updating...
