Problems with P2 Viewer

Ive just installed the p2 viewer onto my PC, im running windows XP SP2 with a Pentium 4. I have all the drivers that came on the cd provided with the HVX and the P2 Store. However, when ive installed the P2 viewer and try to open it up it just freezes and doesnt respond. Ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling numerous times but with the same results. It always crashes before it fully opens. Any ideas as to why this may be happening? Any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem. What I did was I had to remove my multi-function card reader from my system to get the P2 viewer to work. I used the safely remove hardware wizzard to remove the multi-function reader from the system. The card reader restores itself on the next boot.

That worked like a charm. Since im new to all this, how do you go about viewing the footage off the store onto the viewer?

A better way to deal with multifunction card readers is to create a separate hardware profile, one that includes the driver for it, and one that doesn't. You can then choose a profile when the system starts up, and make your preferred configuration the default.

Also, if you installed P2 Viewer from the CD that came with the camera, you might want to update it with the version on Panasonic's website to see if it resolves the issue.

Creating multiple profiles is a good idea. But im still having issues viewing the actual mxf files on the viewer. What are the actual steps that have to be taken to move the files from the p2 store into the viewer?
