Problems with color saturation

It seems that the majority of my DVX100 footage lacks color. I white balance then use the LCD screen to adjust for exposure. When I'm shooting, and looking at the LCD screen the color looks good, but when I look at the same footage on a tv screen it looks washed out. I'm constantly adjusting the color in post.

Any suggestions?

Re: Problems with color saturation

Use a production monitor. You can't really rely on the LCD, especially when the slightest angle change on it will give you a totally different picture.

Re: Problems with color saturation

You can get extremely saturated color if you want. Over-the-top saturated. For strong color, there are three things you can do:
1) use Cine-Like matrix
2) Pump up the Chroma Level (+7 is maximum color)
3) underexpose a little. The more you underexpose, the more saturated colors become (although darker too of course!)

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll certainly give them a try!
