I have problems with this card, since always I had used nvidia cards, and they r wonderful!!! but my problem started when my last card said good bye, so i d bought an ati x600xt.
ok. the fact is that i cannot configure the settings for dual view, and enable the full screen option on the secondary tv monitor when im working real time on avid, the card send one images to the tv monitor and freeze, no more happens, the soft. avid keeping working fine. this card until now only set the full screen on the tv monitor when i configure it to clone option...
what can I do, does anybody knows??? I need help with this

thanks for reading my message

Is that true for the Mac, too? The Avid web site states they support all Mac adapters (of which one is the ATI).

You're right about Macs. Currenly Avid has to support ATI on the Mac platform, however they're still on version 4.6.x on Mac. I was using ATI on that version on PC, but when PC went to Xpress Pro HD then my ATI started giving me problems and I switched to Nvidia.

For what it's worth.

If you want it for Avid then I'd seriously recommend putting a little extra cash into it and getting either the Nvidia Quadro FX 1400 or Quadro FX 1100. Those will be the best options for Avid.

hey man thanks a lot, that 2 are lovely cards, but my budget is not so much for the moment, so i better go for something cheaper. i d found this 2 babys on the internet what do u think about it GeForce 6600GT PCI Express 16x & QUADRO FX 540 PRO VIDEO ED PCIE 128MB

ps. Jarred ATI is a mistake, and the worst is to live the experience.

I've heard of people having good success with the 6600GT, but have never used it myself. I'd probably go for the Quadro card though because that chipset is traditionally a little more Avid friendly. I'm glad you found the FX 540. I thought the lowest model Quadro that was PCI Express was the 1100. Good to know.

So, If I understand, with an 6600GT, it's possible to have two screen + and tv out that you can see the preview movie from the timeline? If yes, I will throw my ATI 9600XT right now *LOL*
