GH4 Problems Untold Trailer

So this is my first major production with the GH4, and I might as well come out and say it, quality film production is difficult as hell! Now when I say 'major production' that is purely relative to my past efforts, as I'm sure this is just the business as usual to the pros that frequent here. I only will be able to put out a trailer because there were so many shots missed because I didn't properly storyboard! My arrogance figured, 'Hell I wrote the script, I know what I need to shoot. I don't need no freakin storyboards!'

Well, lesson learned!!

The two day shoot should have been planned as a three to four day shoot. Should have budgeted to have two additional people on crew, and maybe added another camera as well. Maybe I could have saved some time with some seasoned actors, but we all got better as the project progressed.

I used a GH4 with a Mikaton branded EF mount Speedboster paired with a Sigma 18-35 and when needed, a variable ND. I recorded everything into a Ninja2 @ 1080p 24p using the GH4 HDMI downconvert option and 4:2:2 10-bit V-Log. Audio duties were handle with a Tascam DR-60D and a mix of shotgun and stereo mics. Premiere Pro CC 2015 handled editing duties and special effects while Adobe Audition handled audio. Various tripods, sliders and shoulder rigs and untold amounts of styrofoam whiteboards and homemade LED lights.

NSFW due to language.

Take what you have, storyboard that, then storyboard (and insert in place) what you either missed or feel you want to add. Get your crew back together for another day or two of shooting, and try and finish it.

I want to see what you finish on this. I just finished a 2nd watch on Zak Forsman's "Down And Dangerous" and I find I enjoy independent productions more than most Hollywood stuff. Self distribute some DVD/Blu Ray copies if you can and I'll purchase one. Your production values in the trailer look good to me, so finish it and let me know.
