(problems) Playback and Capturing in other cameras

hi

ive just bought a cheap samsung (SC-D381) so I can capture my dvx100b footage... i havent capture on it yet though, because i need a firewire board.

turns out that when i played back with the samsung, all my dvx footy goes with little twitches, mostly in clips that show movements with a little speed.
is it still gonna happen with the captured footage??

is this something that always happen when playing back in other cameras?.. something related to the way each cam "sees" the codes?

i hope i dont have to look for another cap cam

I can't think of any reason why you'd need a different capture cam, unless the Samsung has some sort of mechanical problem. The info on the tape is digital, so any MiniDV camera should be able to be used as a capture cam.

First question -- Does the tape play fine in your DVX100B? If so, then that probably eliminates the tape as being the source of the problem.

Was your footage shot at 24fps? Maybe in squeeze mode?

Wait until you get a firewire board, then see if the tape captures and plays in your NLE without a problem.
