Problems Ingesting Please Help

I have been using my DVX200 hooked up to my MacBookPro (using Final Cut Studio) to ingest footage off the P2 cards. Everything works fine except when some files act like they are transfered, but then instead of working, they are not excepted into final cut or quicktime. They are only 32k in size. Sometimes they have the filename I gave them while logging, but end with a bunch or "zzzzzzzz" what the? The files are on the P2 cards and playback-able in the camera and in the import P2 files window. If I try several times altering my in and outs or turning audio off or on. I have been able to transfer the files successfully. so far I have not been able to figure out what makes the difference. When I have had this problem, there are mixed file types on the P2 cards (some time-lapse and different HD settings)

Which version of FCP? Yes, do a search. This is a significant MacOS problem. Hard to help completely without adequate info, but make certain that you turn off remove duplicate frames. I found no problems in 5.1.1 and the problem began in 5.1.2. I had fewer problems with 5.1.4 but others continued to report issues even there. Not too many reports about 6.0 yet.
