Problems Importing

I got my DVX100B 2 days ago. I just tried importing footage from it to Adobe Premiere Pro CS4 on my Mac. The DV connection on the camera seemed very loose. I tried another cable, and it still felt loose. My computer won't recognize the camera either. I made sure DV Out was set to On. Should I try to figure this out or should I buy a cheap $200 MiniDV camera just for importing? By the way, my old VX2000 worked fine on this computer with the same cord. Both cords are 4 pin to 6 pin firewire cables.

Try the device options button in the capture window. I've got an older version of Premeir and the DVX is listed in there. I'm sure it will be in CS4.

still didn't work. Shold I just get a little $200 minidv camera just for importing? so I can preserve the tape heads on my DVX?
