problems importing p2 into fcp

ive tried to import my pal 720/25p footage into fcp and i keep getting : 'probable incomplete or corrupt files' i copied the whole contents of the p2 inc the last clip file, its seeing the thumbnails when i go to import and choose the folder but i get that message, im on a 3 week old MBPro with a new copy of FCP i used the cam for the first time yeasterday and i formatted the p2 before i shot anything, what am i doing wrong?
 
You formatted the P2 in the camera, right?

You only need to copy over the CONTENTS folder and the LASTCLIP.TXT file. Put both into a folder by themselves.

Try importing each clip, one at a time, and see if there's just one offending clip that's throwing them all off.
 
yeah formatted in the camera, i tried importing one at a time and i even deleted the files and copied them over again from the P2 but still no joy, are my first ever clips with the hvx doomed then? they play fine on the camera
 
Maybe if you run the repair function in the HVX200?

Try out P2 Genie, too. I love it. It may take care of your problem. Only time I've had this problem is when I did have a corrupted clip. But it's usually just one clip, not the whole card.

Also, try connecting the camera to your Mac via Firewire and import into FCP directly from the camera. May be a file copy from P2 to your hard drive problem.
 
the repair function isnt an option on any of the clips, a new card arrived from the states i ordered last week i just shot some test footage, and its doing the same with that card too, could i be missing something in my fcp settings?
 
drama over, just about to buy p2 log. thanks for all the help guys hopefully thats the last bit of dumbass'edness from me for a while
