Hi everyone, I’m a new DVX100b owner and this is my first post. I may have a problem with the autofocus in 60i. I was wondering if any can help me.
First of all I am aware of the focus assist feature on the dvx in 24P/30P and I understand that Pros use manual focus. I just want to be sure that nothing is wrong or defective with my new camera. I spent a lot of money on it and even if I never use a feature I want too make sure all the features work!
My issue is, when in 60i mode it takes a few sec. (3-5) for the autofocus to stop hunting and sometimes longer. The Afnn# in the Veiwfinder struggles within 1-2 #s and the focus motor purrs for some time after I has good focus. This also results in some of the softer areas in frame to rapidly flux creating an almost interlace effect but once I snap to MF every things smooth. Is this normal? The lighting conditions are O.K but it is indoor lighting. I would appreciate any help and believe me I have done my searches any focus issues I’ve found are progressive issues.
Thanks Val
