Problem With Swit And Other Aftermarket Batteries - "Battery Error" Message.

The two batteries on the right have started giving me the message below. The only thing I can think of is maybe I used these on a OEM charger and it flashed them to make them no longer compatible? It's weird because one Swit works and one of the off brand batteries works too. Of course no problem with the OEM.

I really need to use the SWIT batteries because I use the D-Tap to power my video assist.

Any ideas?

I have five of the SWIT S-8U63 batteries and have never run into any issues with them (I'm using mine with the Sony charger).Have you tried cleaning the contacts?

Interesting? On the battery or the camera? What's the best way to clean the contacts?

I should also note that the gold SWIT on the right is not working and it is by far the newest battery. It stopped working after about a month.

I only use after market batteries (nothing but the cheapest direct from China for me!), and yeah it sometimes (often? ha!) happens to me.

But I have a trivially simple solution:

Take the battery off, and try again! Works like a charm every time (well at absolute worst, no more than ever three goes at it afterwards).

No idea whether this is of any use to you, but as I own a lot of batteries, I've had a few going beyond the acceptable voltage on my shelf and the batteries went to sleep...i.e. my stock chargers would no longer charge those batteries...I invested in a "universal smart charger"....about $80 from RadioShack as it was the only thing available in the city I live in, and end of the problem....it "wakes" any batteries that have discharged too far up, and they are good as new...

Both. Just get some electrical contact cleaner and use a cotton swab. Alternatively, I tend to just use a bit of saliva and a tightly rolled up piece of toilet paper, and that also works just fine.
