After having converted my GH1 1080 footage using Neoscene I've noticed that the resulting files invariably show up in FCP7 or Cinema Tools as being "Cineform HD" files whether I select the ProrRes HQ or the CF 422 option in the Neoscene output panel. Should this be? Processing is for pulldown removal and to fix GH1 chroma. Also, if I select CF422 output the file is actually larger than if I convert the same MTS file using ProRes HQ targeted output and yet I have heard that the opposite should be the case.
The reason I am interested is that I cannot get these files - the "ProRes HQ" files converted from Neoscene - to playback smoothly in FCP7. Even with only one video track and four audio - 2 for the camera audio and 2 for music - playback chokes at nearly all transitions - even with everything rendered. Simply adding a title track will provoke the dropped frames warning upon playback. Of course I am adjusting all of the parameters suggested in the warning dialog to get smooth playback but nothing has any effect. Computer is a current 17" MBP with 8GB RAM and using the higher-performance 9600 GT graphics card.
Using logged-and-transferred 720P files poses no playback issue whatsoever so I am beginning to think something is up with my Neoscene-converted 1080 files.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Angus
