Problem with Lumix 20mm pancake on my AF100

I am waiting for my third Lumix 20mm pancake lens. After about 4 times shooting, all focusing stopped working on the first 2 lenses. I use the push to auto, and I'm manually focusing on my AF100. The problem starts intermittently until the focus becomes completely unresponsive. Is it possible the lenses are dying due to a problem with my AF100? My 14-140 Lumix works perfectly fine, and I've never had this issue. I can't find any one else having this problem? B&H has sent me 2 replacements but I don't think I can get a third. I'd like to not kill anymore lenses. Can someone advise?

I don't use auto for shooting. I am referring to the problem with the lens. The lens will not focus by pushing the auto button or manually turning the focus ring, however, iris never stopped working. I am really trying to find out if my camera has a problem and is killing the lens.

No idea whatsoever. I have a 20mm I use frequently on my AF100, and have never encountered anything like what you're experiencing...

I did the lens firmware upgrade on the first 2 bad lenses but it did not make a difference. The camera was up to date at the time running 1.15. Last Sunday I upgraded to 1.16. My new lens should be coming this week. If this one develops the same problem, I'll know it must be my AF100 causing it. Unless there was just a bad lot of lenses.

New lens arrived yesterday. It worked for the first time. After shutting the camera off for 5 minutes and restarting the lens will not focus. So this leads me to believe the problem is with my camera. The weird thing is my 14-140 works perfectly fine. The problem only occurs with the 20mm pancake. I guess I'm taking a trip to Panasonic.

Hey Ken, Be sure to take your lens with you, and it might not hurt to that the 14140 as well. They should have another AF100 to try it on.

Good luck,

Jan
