Problem with kit lens after using 20mm f/1.7 lens (autofocus & "please attach lens")

Last night I was testing out the Panasonic 20mm f/1.7 lens and it looks great, but today when I was using the kit lens it kept trying to autofocus even though I was in manual focus mode (edit: I notice this also happens when I zoom out on the lens. It won't let me manually focus anymore). Also the "Please ensure that a lens is attached" message kept popping up. I've never had this problem before I used the 20mm f/1.7 lens and I've used a few different Nikon primes with it in the past. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Yeah that's strange, I'd just take the kit lens off, make sure the contacts are clean between it and the body, and then attach it again. If a little smudge of dirt got in just the right place, it could really make it act up.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll try it out when I'm back home. How would I go about cleaning the contacts without messing anything up? I still think it's odd that it happened only after I used the 20mm f/1.7.

I don't really think you could mess up the contacts?... just wipe it with a cloth. I had that problems with the kit lens myself. Turned out that the lens wiggle slightly when attached to the camera but that seems to happen with all gh1's.

So I checked and it seems that the contacts are clean. I noticed though that it switches to autofocus when I zoom out on the lens. Once I zoom out it no longer lets me manually focus. The lens seems to be securely locked in, so I'm not sure what the problem is. If anyone could help, I'd really appreciate it because I have a shoot next week and I use the kit lens as my wide angle lens.
