GH3 Problem with focus assist on Hdmi monitor

Hi, i ask you to check if this is normal. With a monitor attached, if i enter the focus assist function 5x or 10x (not in 4x) the image on the external monitor get resized like in 4:3. I can see two vertical band black in both sides and the image in the middle. It works regularli in the gh3 monitor. Now the weird thing is that if i remember well it started to do that all of sudden. It would not do that until 2 days ago (for the few times i have used a external monitor). Wait some response or info. Thanks
 
Typically use the external monitor's focus assist instead of the GH4's but when I've hit the camera's by mistake it windows 4:3 on the external.

Actually glad it does to avoid confusion while framing up.

I should have wrote GH3.

All I meant was mine crops the same when using an external monitor, so your camera is behaving normally.
 
is it? I am using external monitor since few days, and i am sure it would not do that before. Yesterday while shooting, all of a sudden i notice the 4:3. And to me it looked new, i did not notice before. So i think something has happened
 
I'm on set shooting with a different camera system but at lunch ran a brief test on the GH3 & it behaved just like yours.

Odd how the different magnifications get passed along but nothing I'd worry about.
