.Problem with analog out (from DVX100)

I'm trying to take my finished product (on MAC..iMovie) via firewire to camera, then via composite to VHS deck. Picture showed up on MAC and also on camera monitor screen (I was feeling a little confident and cocky..didn't hook-up monitor to VHS deck!!!) Audio was just fine. After almost 2 hour "transfer", I discovered zero video signal on VHS tape! I used SVideo cable. Do I need to go into settings and tell panny to "enable" SVideo out? I have Canopus converter, but my dog ran off with my AC adaptor (it's true!), and I had to order one from Canopus, just moments ago (it's 5V..Radio Shack didn't know what the hell I was talking about). Bottom line..should I expect the panny to automaticly convert incoming DV signal and send it out of SVideo and/or composite? Sorry if this sounds like a redundant question..I searched 20 pages of questions trying to find answer. No luck!
Thanks a million boys & girls!

You might need to select DV OUT on your camera in the menu settings. Im not saying this will solve the problem because I have gotten video out of the camera via firewire and the DV OUT was off on my camera.

Thanks for taking time to help out! I wound up doing what I always do..disconnect everything, restart computer, reconnect. It works just fine.
....oh well..
thanks!

Walmart has them, bought one a couple weeks back.  Look in the video/camera dept.
