Hi,

I have some problems Panasonic HVX200 with 720p25 mode, also 1080p25 and 576/25p (PAL). When i shoot 25p mode's the movie look like it drop frames or something like that. But when i change to shoot 50p mode's it works great. Files are import from camera a final cut log and transfer tool and DVCPROHD 720p25 mode.

Here is some file: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/9527870/25p_vs_50p.mov , the first clip is 25p and the next clip is 50p. That .mov file are H264 / 1280x576 and 25fps

I highly doubt your camera is dropping frames. Have you viewed 25p before? It can have a stuttering type look to it.
You computer might stumble playing back in realtime, but once exported to a file, that's it, no dropped/missing frames.

Don't have time to view your clip, but from what you describe it can be an interlace issue when converting your 1080 25p files to other formats. Make sure you're converting your 1080 25P DVCPRO HD files to a codec like Prores 25p 4:2:2. Same to the 720p 25 footage. Make sure in your editing software that you're working in a 25p timeline. Another issue could be shutter speed when shooting. If you shoot 25p at 25 shutter, you will get very blurry images. The reverse happens if you use very high shutter speeds, like 120 upwards- you get a "strobby" image. Like Videolanta said, 25p images- like 24p- look less fluid than 50P, which is more of a "real", or "News" look.

I use final cut log and transfer tool, Easy setup is DVPROHD 25P, if i check the files right after the copy it look like the picture is lag.. i use 1/50sec shutter.
I upload this example clip to tv station and they say that there is some problems with picture.. i have never before use a P2 camera, is it better if i shoot 720p50 when i make interviews or something like that to the TV station.

Also i get some feedback when i shoot DVPROHD 720p50 and make it -> 720x576 DVPAL, they say "your material are single line because you make that conversion, we need to get all material 25i". So what are the right properties in quicktime conversion in final cut when i use a quicktime H.264 codec and 720x576 resolution?

Thank you very much, this help me a lot!

Edit:

It works now.. the problem was "Remove advanced pulldown"
