I am backing up the content of a my firestore to LaCie 250g drives. I've found that I can only empty the content off of the fs-100 one time within a partition. If I fill up the firestore load it onto the hard drive-reformat the firestore shoot again and attempt to load the additional content onto the hard drive, the HD will not accept because it sees folders with redundant names. If I try to change the name of the folders, (contents to contents2 for example), Final Cut will not recognize the files as P2.
I have an ongoing project and I want save backups to cover myself in the event that the files in my edit system become corrupted.
I know that one solution is to format my drives into 100gig partitions but I find that that wastes a lot of storage space since I often shoot less than that in a day. I don't want to shoot till full because I don't want to down load while out in the field.
Any suggestions?
