Problem rendering FluidFilm Progressive

I have made a videomixdown of DV25 420 OMF sequence to DV50 OMF. I have put FluidFilm Progressive on that and I render the stuff. But when de renderprocess almost completes, it gives me this error:

Exception: OMFIHPDomain_ERROR_CLOSING_DOMAIN

Do someone know whats going on here and how I can solve this problem? I will now first try to mixdown it to DV25 420 OMF and see if it gives me the same error.
It doesn't make me happy because the renderprocess takes such a long time.

Update: I have tried mixdown it to DV25 but it gives me the same error on the end, and only the last part of the sequence is rendered. >:(

Yeah, I've been getting that error message too. All I'm trying to do is create a letterbox Digital Cut (from a native 16x9 sequence) for transcoding to my DVD set-top recorder. I want the aspect ratio to look correct on a 4x3 TV. Perhaps I'm not doing it right and there is a better method?

One suggestion was to delete "database files." Where are those files located? What is their purpose and what are the consequences to deleting them?

The database files are in each individual OMFI MedaiFiles folder on each hard drive that has Avid media stored on it. They're called "msmFMID.pmr" and "msmMMOB.mdb."

The reason Avid creates these is to help with media management. These databases store the structure of media files on your hard drive and allow the program to select the appropriate media file to play when you click something in Avid. The consequence to deleting them is that it causes Avid to reindex the OMFI MediaFiles folder and build brand new database files. Sometimes those databases can become corrupted, or just plan huge due to useage. Letting Avid rebuild will sometimes fix errors and improve performance.

JKL, I remember reading something on the Avid forums about a known bug with the FluidFilm effect. You might jump over to www.avid.com and search through their Xpress Pro forums and see if you can dig something up.

Hope that helps.

Thanks, Chris. I did hear about the FluidFilm bug. I visit those Avid forums regularly - a wealth of knowledge (and sardonic comments)! :)

So, just so I make SURE I understand you correctly . . . if I delete those database files you mentioned above, I will NOT lose anything because Avid will automatically rebuild them. Correct?

Thanks,

Correct. The only change that you will see is that the next time you open Avid it will flash a "Scanning OMFI MediaFiles" or something like that. Once that's finished (and it can take some time depending on how much media you have on your system) then you'll be able to open your projects and everything will be like normal.
