Problem playing back tape footage

So today I am trying to log some footage on my HVX. I pop in the tape and hit play... but it just plays a blue screen.

I know that the tape is actually playing because the minute countdown in the top right corner is changing (58 MIN, 57MIN). But it is just showing me a blue screen. The tape has something on it, I put it in another camera to check and it showed up there, but not when I put it back in my HVX.

A friend of mine messed with the settings on the camera a few days ago. He went in and messed with the time code, setting it to freerun and syncing it to another camera. So could this have caused my problem?

Any idea on what is going on? I have it set to Tape and VCR and nothing is showing up on the tape, even though there is something there.

This is what the screen looks like when it is playing the tape. The tape does have something on it, I put it in another camera and it showed the footage.

These are my settings in VCR, Recording Setup:

REC SPEED - SP

AUDIO REC - 48K

1394 TC REGEN - OFF

TC MODE DF

TCG - REC RUN ( Was freerun like I mentioned before but I changed it back )

FIRST REC TC - PRESET

TC PRESET - ----

1394 UB REGEN - ON

UB MODE - FRM.RATE

UB PRESET - ----

1394 IN PRESET - OFF



Like I said in the previous post, a friend changed my settings to these in order to sync it to another camera. And after he did that this tape problem started.

Any ideas on what the problem is?
