problem logging and capturing

trying to log and capture from dvx100b into fcp, and saying "unable to initialize video deck." tried just about everything; made sure all settings were correct, powered up and down, and up again. changed firewire cords. Some setting is off. Any advice??!?
 
Is your dvx on "VTR" mode? have you tried a different firewire port on your computer? try some other firewire device to make sure your firewire isn't blown or anything...
