I have a problem inputting a wireless lav into channel 1 and a shotgun mic into channel 2 on the HVX. The shotgun works fine when it's the only external mic; however, when the lav is switched on, the level on the shotgun drops dramatically, 10 to 20% of what it was when it was the only external mic. I also hear the difference when monitoring with a headset. (I assume I'm only monitoring the external mics on channels one and two through the headset and not 3 & 4 too). When the person with the lav walks out of range the shotgun suddenly kicks in at full level and out again when the lav starts working again. It seems like the two channels are connected in some way and are not completley independent of each other. Channel one is set to input one and Channel two is set to input two. Does anyone have any explanations as to why this is happening?
